After leaving global drinks giant Diageo, David Lester partnered with Ben Goodwin to scale, launch and sell a successful line of probiotic sodas. A strategic thinker with a passion for disruptive innovation, he has since worked with a number of corporate venture capital funds and boutique ideation agencies. Born and raised in England, followed by work assignments in Sydney, Australia and São Paulo Brazil, David has happily called the Bay Area home since 2013.

As CEO and co-founder of RXBAR, Peter Rahal is responsible for aligning the company’s progressive vision, culture and strategy to build the fastest growing clean-label bar brand in the U.S.. Peter sets the tone for the 200+ employees at RXBAR by bringing to life the principles on which he founded the company. He never takes his mind off what is best for the customer and lives by the mantra, “We don’t cut corners, we add corners.” With national distribution and partners such as Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Target and Amazon, Peter drives a business that serves millions of customers who are looking for clean labels.

Laura Sage

Laura Sage is the creator and CEO of CH/LL an incense-free modern meditation studio. Laura was driven to create Chill by her desire to establish a regular meditation practice and her frustration at not being able to find a place in Chicago that resonated with her. Laura brings years of relevant business acumen to the table. She was the Director of Marketing and Investor Relations at a Chicago and London-based hedge fund. Laura is also the Founder of The Lynn Sage Foundation which is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. Laura earned her MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Kellogg School of Business and holds a BS in Economics from the University of Arizona.

James McLaughlin is the CEO and President of Intelligentsia Coffee, a brand that has pioneered the ideals of exceptional quality, transparency, and innovation in the coffee industry. McLaughlin focuses on growing the Intelligentsia brand while remaining true to the company’s core values of directly sourcing quality coffees, building partnerships with farmers, and delivering exceptional coffee. Prior to McLaughlin’s start in coffee, he was an attorney at the firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago. Leaving behind his law career, he moved to Brazil with his wife in 2009 where they turned a family farm into a thriving coffee business. Before becoming CEO in 2014, McLaughlin served as Intelligentsia’s COO and Director of Green Coffee, Quality Control and Roasting.
